ABOUT ME
In 2004, with limited dog experience and no exposure to greyhounds, I received a call pleading with me to take in an older ex racer immediately. Just for a few days. His situation was dire, and the alternative was unfathomable.
A big, blue, scrawny, boy arrived later that day. He captured my heart immediately with his huge, brown soulful eyes and gentle ways. My love of greyhounds began. It was a far from ideal situation; I lived in a tenement flat in central Edinburgh and worked long hours. We muddled along for a few months, and once he returned to full health, I found him a wonderful retirement home.
Since then, I have shared my life and my heart with several retired racers and actively support the charities who advocate for these wonderful dogs.
At a loose end during covid lockdowns, I dusted off the sewing machine, sourced unusual ribbons and fabrics, creating collars, a coat, a various other items for horses and home. Following encouragement from friends and family, HoneyBee Designs was borne. My product line has expanded and evolved in response to customer feedback, particularly the desire for unique bespoke options, and are now worn by a variety of breeds.
